ShareLife Committee

It is the function of the ShareLife Committee to raise funds for the Archdiocesan ShareLife Campaign. This committee meets approximately once per month from January through June during the time of the ShareLife Campaign.

Mandatory Activities/Responsibilities

  • The Volunteer is to work as a member of the parish team to set campaign goals, to develop fund raising events, arrange for outside speakers, devise and deliver presentations to the congregation, arrange for signs and report results to campaign headquarters and the Parish
  • The volunteer will normally perform these responsibilities in a team context, although he or she may be called upon from time to time to take a leadership role
  • The volunteer will perform the various responsibilities for a period of a month or so prior to the start of the campaign and will continue until the completion and a wrap-up meeting.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • The volunteer should be capable of functioning and carrying out responsibilities in a team environment
  • A knowledge of the member charities is beneficial
  • The ability to speak in public can be helpful - congregational presentations
  • Computer access and computer skills are very useful

Personal Traits and Qualities

  • The volunteer should be spiritual
  • The needs to be a commitment to the campaign and its' objectives
  • Patience and tolerance is required
  • A sense of hum our is essential
  • A high honesty and integrity is essential

Orientation and Training

  • Study of materials issued by the ShareLife office
  • Attend all preliminary committee meetings

Participant Group

  • The Pastor and committee members

Support, Supervision and Evaluation

  • Support is provided by committee members and the Pastor
  • Supervision is provided by the fact that the committee works as a group
  • Evaluation takes place at the end of a committee members term

Length of Ministry Appointment

  • Two years

Benefits and Working Conditions

  • The volunteer gains experience in committee work and public speaking
  • Gains self-satisfaction on a job well done and being part of a successful team
  • The project has acceptable working conditions on Parish premises

Screening Measures

  • This is a low risk position
  • Completion of the Volunteer Information Form is required
  • Completion of the Ministry Covenant Form

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Youth Ministry is pleased to announce the formation of a youth band. We are currently looking for singers, guitarists, drummers, bass players, string players, horn players and musicians of all kinds. Join us for a 3-night Lenten Retreat at our church facilitated by Jesuit Priest, Fr. Ahil, from Martyr’s Shine!

Each night will include:

  • Celebration of the Holy Mass
  • Reliquary of the Martyrs exposed in the church
  • Individual blessings with the Relics of Sts. Jean de Brebeuf, Charles Garnier and Gabriel Lalemant

Date and Time: March 19, 20 and 21, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.

Refreshments will be served on Monday sponsored by the parish Mother's Group and on Wednesday by participants of our online parish Lenten Study.
