Memo to Parishioners re Sunday Envelopes
We would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT if you would NOT USE ENVELOPES FROM PREVIOUS YEARS.
We try very hard to be accurate with all donations received. If you missed picking up envelopes for one year, your envelope number has been cancelled and another parishioner may have your number. As a result, your donation would be credited to whoever is using that envelope number, especially if you did not write your name on the envelope. (It would be great if parishioners wrote their last name on their envelope to help with accuracy.) If there is no name on the envelope and we cannot match it, the donation goes to the “Anonymous” file.
Please help us keep your file accurate!
ShareLife - Catholic Settlement House Day Nursery
Catholic Settlement House Day Nursery is committed to offering quality day care for young children. This agency offers subsidized spaces for parents who are unable to pay full fees. The children who come to the day care centre are from all different backgrounds.
Next Sunday is ShareLife’s second offering.
Please give generously!
Your donation makes a difference – help us to help those in need!

Audio Version of Homilies & Prayer/Devotion Section on OLPH Web Site
The audio version of weekend homilies by Fr. Jim and Fr. Dan have been recently added to the web site - since Palm Sunday plus those of Holy Week. Please try it out by simply clicking on the audio file. The latest audio homily will be usually listed on the Homepage but the recent available ones will be listed in the Bulletins & Homilies page (click on left menu).
Speakers and a sound card are needed but most computers come with such equipment - plus an audio software (like Windows Media Player). A window may pop up asking you to "Open" for playing right away or "Save" in your own computer for playing later. As audio files are quite large (even after compression) compared to text files, only recent audio versions will be kept on the web site. However, please let the webmaster know if you wish to have some earlier homily as all homilies (audio and written) are retained. At the same time, please provide some feedback - as to the usefulness and quality of the audio reproduction (not quality of the homily!).
A new "Prayer/Devotion" Section has also been just added to our web site. They include devotions and novenas to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, various Prayers, about the Seasons of the Liturgical Year and frequently-asked questions about Our Faith. Please visit this new Section and provide us your feedback.
Parking around the Church
Recently I have had several complaints about people parking in front of people’s driveways when they come to mass. Needless to say this is an extremely annoying situation for our parish neighbours. It is both an inconvenience for them and seriously disrespectful. If you have been in the habit of letting parts of your vehicle overhang people’s driveways when you come to church, please stop.
Make sure when you park that you leave the entrance to people’s driveways completely free. You would not like it if they blocked your driveway and they don’t like it when you block theirs. Even if you are only slightly impinging on their space it can make it very difficult for them to get out when there are other cars parked along the street. Should this continue to happen the police will be called and your cars will be tagged and towed.
